The Eightth Wonder of the World

The Smoky mountains make me
high on life. There are no words
needed when I reach the top
of the mountain and look out
over the peaks. To look down

on the clouds takes my breath
away. Each day, every hour
the scene before me changes

as sunlight dips, glides, hides,
dances across the vistas and highlights
each season with color, then black and white.
Show me the fun, the joy, the intricacies
of the dance - I'm always waiting.

I love how light paints and changes one's view!
Yes, I can see your wonder, through your words and my memories of the Grand Canyon...

Judy, so glad to see you writing again to Poets United Wednesday prompts! I agree the Smoky Mountains take one's breath away. It is so beautiful to look out and see the grandeur that is there to behold.

Mountains are indeed so wonderful--and each range has its own special characteristics. I have seen such beautiful pictures from the Smokies -- and their smokiness is very special I think.

Another beautiful word picture, plus a love letter to a favorite place, Judy.

I am told it it most wondrous. If only I didn't have to go through the indignity of the US customs to get there...
