Angry Snarls

Picture on: Diviant Art website
Title: Shikamaru. Artist: Bious

What makes you so angry
So full of rage at the world
At me and the people who love you.

Are we your safe place to land
You know our love unconditional
Our intent fair and true to you.

What makes you so angry
Is it the universe's way of preparing
You and me for what lies ahead.

I know this is the beginning of something
The end of something else
I have to let you grow and then go.

Perhaps your anger allows you to step out
Leave the warmth of my love, it was meant
To allow me to let you go more easily.

I guess I can shut my eyes, it’s hard to watch
You search for something I have an answer to
I know my truth isn’t yours, you have to find your own.

Be fierce my dear one, make your own way
Know that I’m here when the anger subsides
And you have made your independent life.

I’ll be here for the landing, when you reach the place
You want to be. My arms will be the same, my heart
Still strong and true, my love will grow in your absence.

Incredible poem, one I could write for my daughter. Well done.

Hard prompt I think Judy. Good job with lots of heart. So hard to see someone you love angry at the world.
