Kind Healer

The doctor’s hand touches
my husband’s arm, my hand
as he tells us its cancer, quickly
tells us the way we will do
battle, irradiate the enemy,
keep close eye on rebirth.
He’ll slice away every cell of tumors,
then singe in  the fires of a laser.
We - keep our appointments,
pray, and don’t give up hope.

I'm glad you had a kind healer on the way to good healing news, Judy.

That is all one can do, Judy. All one can hope for. Praying that all will be well, trusting that it will be.

Such a striking portrait of that brief time. I like that it ends more hopefully--and I am glad you had a hopeful result in real life!

I like that he touched you both. Compassion is important in times of a scary diagnosis, that and confidence.
