Surge-Recede


The ocean surges, then recedes
When the surge is significant
everything stops except the
wall of water, everything else
becomes trivial.

I liked your typo, Mary. As I was walking today, I was trying to compose a "rap' about the power of the ocean. Don't ask....

Glad you tried this prompt Judy. Surge and recede just seems to immediately call the ocean to mind. I like how tight this poem is--and I can well picture standing in front of that wall of water.
