Decade Question

Whenever I
get shaky or dizzy
from exhaustion,

or take a nap,
I feel the fear
seeping through
tired bones. Am I

to loose the energy
I have had, this
another harbinger

of my sixth decade,
do I need a wonder med,
or do I only need to adjust?

Such a strong word fear. But well expressed here and something that creeps in for so many of us. But if you mean over 60, I do believe you are entering the seventh decade. Sounds even more serious!!

Hard sometimes to adjust to the changes brought about by the decades of life!

I feel it too, the fear of losing power with age. I like to think wisdom more than compensates. We work with greater vision if less energy. You as usual write poewerfully from the gut here.

Oh, Peggy. I'm not talking about my decade any more if I am IN my seventh. Geez, I'm getting more tired now!LOL

You dont look old enough for either decade, Judy. As for being more tired - after 40, people need naps, in my humble opinion. Wait till you're as old as I am, it's all downhill from here, kiddo. Hee hee.

I think we all feel that at times, but age is just a number... right?

Thank you, Sherry. I can't imagine that you are in any decade but my own (which I will not mention any more since I found out i'm one decade more advanced!LOL)

I do hope you are right, Victoria, that wisdom counts for something. However, my mom did say that she remembers when she was smart. :)

Hang in there, Judy. Naps are our reward in any case.

You express so well the fear of physical vulnerability in our waning years. Physically, I always felt invulnerable, until now, and I don't like this fearful feeling.
