Hour Before Dawn

The hour before dawn

I lie awake, half dream world,

half reality. I long to stay

one more

hour, one minute. Why must

I be pummeled and crushed

by reality each morning.

In the hour before dawn

I want the dream.

Ah, the dream! I can be pretty dreamy even awake, which isn't always a good thing. May the good feeling of your dreams stay with you.

A lovely dream always gets broken at dawn. Can definitely relate to this one!

Wonderful poem! You catch so well the beauty of the dream world. I loved the phrase "pummeled and crushed by reality each morning".
