Salt Water Gift

Salt water in the gulf
is a healer, buoyant
and giving.  Plays
     with me with sudsy
          like waves that bury
               my feet in the sand,
     then washes them free.
Salt water brings
     me gifts of seastars,
           sand dollars, and shells
     with seaweed bows.

The gulf and waters near here a haven for me..floating on the waves without much effort andenjoying the birds and creatures that live in the sea..my grandchildren are learning to search in the sand and in the shallow water to find how lives there....CA

Happy beach poem. I'm so glad Bob and I were in the Gulf a week ago and Ruth and Chris are taking Liam this afternoon for a day or so. He's been asking.

Great beach poem, Judy. I'm another who thinks salt water heals many things, physical and emotional, sometimes just letting us float easily.

Beautiful poem, Judy...I love the shells and sand dollars abundant on the Gulf coast...here they get smashed up, just shards is all we find usually. And, that's why you have such great sand too, like cornstarch and just as squeaky.

Such a happy poem, Judy! I hope it inspires you to paint something to accompany it. I envision you painting just the feet with sea and sand all those wonderful treasures, including seaweed bows.

Thank you for visiting me.
I see you love the sea too, nothing quiet as lovely as Mother Nature, is there~!

This touched me. I AM a woman who needs to step into the ocean every few months. The sea is calming, healing, soothing for me, too. It somehow offers balance.

Those sudsy waves. I can almost feel them!

There's something funny about the way this poem is written, and the way the lines move further and further to the right as you move downwards. Interesting! Interesting with the high density of statements as well. It's kind of a "This is how it is. Just this"-poem (Hope I'm making any sense here).

Fantastic imagery. I want to go to the beach now. If only it wasn't Winter.

Sorry to be so long in getting to read all these Judy. I love this take on the salt prompt, salt as a giver of gifts. Excellent description.
