In The Blink of An Eye

Our life goes by like
The Star Trek Enterprise.
Childhood, school, dating,
marriage, children of our own.
Now I can see it all like film clips
That run in my head at warp speed.

Our children grow up way too fast.
Today we hold them for the first
time, tomorrow we see them
off on their own. Then we
have grandkids, our pay
off for job well done.

They do grow up in the blink of an eye, as d the grandkids. lately it seems like everything passes in the blink of an eye or less.

Yes .... My grandmother used to say " like a dream..,". Perhaps as all things possible on that good ole Star Ship Enterprise ( ever think about the name...mhmmm never did until just now) well perhaps " what goes around may come around in another blink of a Universal eye.... :)

I hope it's like that. I'm somewhere between "today" and "tomorrow", but it does seem to be whooshing by.

Life goes oh too fast. In the blink of an eye. Hopefully, with grandkids, we can all see that we have accomplished a job well done.

So funny...I thought of using this title today...but went a different direction.

By the way...I like how the structure of the poem looks like an arrow: representing forward movement.

Well done.

Yes, it dies seem like warp speed sometimes. I remember a professor once saying to me, "life is long" and I was so shocked because everyone always says "life is short." She was saying it to me for comfort because I was having to interrupt my education...that I would have plenty time to finish.
