No One Wants to Die

Death awaits us every one
tries to cloak itself in seduction
a cape of peace wrapped round us
a respite from racing the course.
We fight, hold off, refuse its
deceptive lure, most of the time
we know it for what it is. We fight,
do what needs to be done to survive
to allow ourselves one more shot
at this life we find worth living.

YES what you said is the truth..
We all know that the death is awaiting us..but still fights to survive and in your words...
..to allow ourselves one more shot
at this life we find worth living.

I liked what you said in this poem. Wish it did not take a life time to know. How I wish my three sons would see life as it really is, short.
Well done.

Yes, so true. We fight it to our last breath. (At least I THINK I will. I don't think I will ever be 'ready.')

I think I e-mailed by comment instead of posting it here. I said I think the last line is key, we fight to stay in a life we find worth living. I hope I always love my life as I do now.
