Camouflage

The food pyramid keeps changing,
re-arranging, but never presents
anything appetizing to me. The Food Channel
makes delectable treats using applesauce
instead of sugar, say what?  So many helpings

of fresh vegetables and fruit are a main stay
for any good diet.  But no matter how much I try
to maintain, I’ve never prettied up vegetables enough
to make them  as appetizing as a chocolate-pecan cookie,
a snow white coconut cake, or a helping of miracle fudge!

lol....so true! It's never gonna happen, but getting fudge from a fruit would be miracle enough for me!

You definitely have a point Judy! So glad to see you writing!

so very, very true! Camouflage--like spinach in spaghetti sauce. Humorous to think about, and your poem caught the playfulness.

True. And maybe some day they'll get it right!

I think I need to come and cook for you, Judy. Was it a good thing that I introduced you to artichokes?

I think you DO have to come cook for me, Ann! Bring the artichokes with you. We don't have artichokes the size of basketballs here! :)

Amen, sister. Especially "mistake" fudge, the kind that accidentally turns to sugar and gets all dry and grainy. Heaven.

Judy, this was a wonderful take on the prompt. Every blog that carries that pic makes me crack up. You certainly have a cornucopia of a poem here (groan)!! Amy

Got to agree with you about anything sweet, but a veggie or two (stir-fry) will make it all possible!

I eat very few sweet things at the moment. I do like them, but feel better when I pass them by. On the contrary, I eat tons of strawberries and blueberries.
