Choices

Every day choices, every minute decisions
that will affect my life and other’s.

I am overwhelmed with choices. What to wear,
what to write, whether to sell or hold out.

Do I believe in God, in organized religion,
which church should I go to if I do?

Does it matter which club I belong to
or start? Do I say yes, or stand firm with a no.

Do we go on vacation, invest our money, or give
more to our charity of choice?

Has my mom reached the point she can’t live
on her own, or do I trust when she says  she’s OK.

I ponder, consider, complain, and stress out.
Did I make the right choices today?

Wow, your poem pointed out just how many choices there are on any given day, Judy. Always hope we make the right ones, but sometimes we don't know for a while...

It is hard not to worry or get stressed out, isn't it?

Do the choices make us,
or do we make the choices.

Worry...the five lettered word that fills our mind until we cannot rest...choices..they can give a headache

Here you go again, using direct clear specifics in your poem and hitting home. I so admire that about your writing. And I think often either choice is just fine - win, win.

Which is when we could well do with a slice of that old time religion, is it not? Unfortunately, for the vast majority it's no longer available. Fine poem.

Your church is within you. One problem solved. Jesus didn't need a church to pray in, did he? He was close to God wherever he was. God is within you, not in any man-made church.
As to the rest, maybe you should just let go and let God. What will be, will be. Whatever happens, is meant to happen whether you've worried about it, or not.

Oh, I hear you loud and clear. We are inundated with choices. Isn't it great to have them? Well, sometimes the pressure is too much.

You've made some wonderful choices along the way, Judy, though I understand how hard this can be.

Nice poem - choices everywhere and it's a bit crazymaking to worry too much about whether each choice has been correct...

My mother lives with us. They are definitely tough choices, but as my mother often says, "It will all come out in the wash."

Loved this poem. It's so easy to get overwhelmed with the number of choices we make every day.
