Briana

In the casket is a girl
Just nineteen
Black silky dress
Ladybug tattoo
Behind her ear
Life palpable
All around
Her grandma pleads
Wake-up, Ladybug!

Punch in the gut raw emotion in this piece, Judy.

So moving Judy. Your family must be fond of ladybugs. Such a difficult thing to lose someone so young at the beginning of her life. Hugs

Short and very concise, but the message hits home.
Very heartfelt,
Hugs.

Judy, this is so sad. No one is prepared to have a beloved child of age 19 leave! If only she could/ would wake up.

Judy I am just sitting hear bawling reading this poem and hearing the grandma's voice. I have trouble not being selfish and scared and imagining it being me crying and KK in the casket. I am however also genuinely compassionate with all of you who lost Briana, and sad for her that her life was so short and cut off unexpectedly. In terms of the poems, the specific sensory images really brought it home hard. Thank you for this one.
