The Wizard Contained

Even though I saw The Wizard of Oz
More times than I can recount
It took me decades to realize
Happiness is not a place.

I was a child who appreciated
The lavish production and the performers,
Especially Dorothy and her helpers
Who were all searching for their own truths.

There’s no place like home, a haven safe
And secure, a place rife with enlightenment,
Love and fulfillment where each day I will
Wake up fully alive, where beauty and light

surrounds me.Now I know that happiness is not
A place. It begins in me and radiates without.
I generate the passion for life and the universe
responds. I am the wizard of my own fate.

Judy, I agree 100% with you. Happiness is not a place. We each are the wizard of our own fate..barring health issues, natural disasters, and unforeseen circumstances; but even then it is up to us to deal with them in the best way possible for US.

Judy,
This is so very well written..!! I agree with what you have said here- We create our Destinies through all terrains.. Only we never realize it. It seems easy to blame it on the Fate..
Loads of Love xoxox

'Happiness is not a place...'
-so true. Important to remind ourselves of this from time to time and to remember to look within.
