Home

Sanctuary, four walls or more.
Scent of candles, low light.
Encapsulate nature, continuation
of home.  Palm trees catch every breeze,
soft seats for writing and thinking,
oaks sturdy and magnificent overhead,
native grasses, fire pit lined by boulders,
natural seating from storm
downed tree. I flourish.

Paradise Grasped

Paradise surrounds me.
There are no clouds
only the blue of dreams.
Queen palms slow dance
to the soft, fragrant breeze.

Outdoor tables
along cypress planks
that lead to sea.  Glass
of zinfandel , basket
of warm pumpernickle
with herbed butter.  Quiet chatter
surrounds me along with the hawk
of gulf birds.

You walk in, old friend, so glad to see you
written in our smiles. Sunfish mores
in a slip nearby. A seabird
begins his dive and we turn to witness.
Lunch is served by handsome waiter.
We catch up  as we taste
the nectar of Circles Waterfront.

Bonafied Beauty

 The view outside,
bonafied beauty.
Judy take note,
antidote for grief.
Relief for the taking
forsaking gloom.
