Sanctuary, four walls or more.
Scent of candles, low light. Encapsulate nature, continuation
of home. Palm trees catch every breeze,
soft seats for writing and thinking,
oaks sturdy and magnificent overhead,
native grasses, fire pit lined by boulders,
natural seating from storm
downed tree. I flourish.

Gorgeous, Judy!! I was sold on your first word and I love that it stands alone as a sentence...so worthy a start and the rest perfectly suits. ♥
This does sound like the perfect environment in which to flourish.
What a lovely place! Your final line, "I flourish" is the perfect closing too.
A northerner most of my life and palm trees fascinate me. Peaceful, this poem
A strong sense of place, and of coming to rest in a natural place, a natural fit. Lovely.
this is awesome. you know, it's so interesting, because your first couple lines give me an image, based on my own experience, that is blown apart by the existence of palm trees in this space. then for the rest of it, i'm just in wonder. very nice!
Please tell .. where is this place? I want to be there.
Sounds like a wonderful home!
'four walls or more'...
not necessarily square then :-)
That immediately sets the tone for something exotic and of Eastern promise
Sounds pretty great. K.
What a beautiful description Judy. It does sound like your home -- homes actually. You are so good at creating this feeling.
A perfect place to thrive!
yes the garden sounds great, a happy place
A flourishing home indeed! :-)
Perfect little home from storm drowned tree. I flourish, great ending ~
Enjoyed this terse and crisp poem ~
nice - love the concept of a sanctuary - your images bring it to life
Judy, I get the sense that no matter where you live, you will make the kind of home in which you flourish. This is truly beautiful.
