Concern deepens, brow furrows; wonder
And worry consume. I wonder if this,
Worry that, and what if it doesn’t work out.
My concern takes over the days, tortures by
Night in my dreams. Concern is the best
Possible emotion until it turns on you.
In all things let there be boundaries
And balance.
Let me not live the pain
Let me not live the pain
With everyone that is hurting. Let me have
Concern, help if I can, but stay once removed.

Excellent advice conveyed in an excellent poem. It is hard not to get too far in with those we love who are suffering...and when we do that we lose our ability to be there for them, because we become overwhelmed too.
Excellent advice Judy, but oh so difficult too sometimes.
Yes Judy, concern, compassion, but not taking on the pain.
I hear you, Judy.
The dissonant pace and line breaks give power to the words, clarify the discomfort and senselessness of worry. Nicely constructed, Judy.

love the word flow.
profound write, welcome back.
Happy Rally.
Nicely worded. Concerned but detached - hard when the connections are strong.
Wonderfully written thoughtful words. I enjoyed reading it twice.
Enjoyed where you took us through this piece.

I feel these deeply since my mom isn't doing so well and I am consumed with worry. Great job!
Worry is so disruptive to our lives and plays havoc with our mind and emotional roller coaster ... brillantly executed, Judy!!
Yes, Judy, boundaries and balance. I'm afraid I don't do well at this, I confess to being a worrywart. I will work towards staying once removed as you say in your wise poem.
You have a really strong writing style that comes across beautifully in this poem.
Good advice to keep in mind. Well written poem:)
love your message- it is really all about boundaries - I struggle with these - very well written poem
Judy~ I'm the same way... love the ending!
Awesome words - it's good balance that a person allows him or herself to be concern and understand that he or she can only help up to a certain extent. Quite a challenge though. :)
words of wisdom and a sound advice ... an excellent write.
