One Year

This year looks much like
last year.  Blank slate, pen
in my hand, resolute, intent
for a personal best.

Two thousand fourteen.
The only one I’m given.
One glorious year
to orchestrate,
then await
my fate.

I like the idea of "orchestrate and await my fte." It catches one of the big paradoxes about what we can and can't control and how we can best live knowing both the need to control and the impossibility of complete control are present. Good one.

Sounds like you are ready to move ahead to whatever you decided to do. Go Judy!!

Very nice - each year IS a new beginning. It is exciting to have another chance to have a totally blank slate to write upon!

Day by day, hour by hour, that's all you can do.

I have to remind myself at times that we have a great deal of input into how each day will be. Hope you write something that will find a corner in your mind this year and each time you think of it you will smile with a sense of peace.
