by the two hickory nut trees.
She’s about our size and the same
color. She thinks she owns the place.
Just play along, run when she comes
chasing out the door. It doesn’t hurt
for us to give her a little thrill. She’s
cute, but dumb as a tree limb. She
doesn’t get it that she’s been chasing
us all her life and never been close.
Poor dumb animal. Here she comes,
you two run and I’ll watch this time.
This dog cracks me up!

haha... this is so cute, Judy
Lovely words, and fun.
intriguingly compassionate... giving her a thrill while having fun too.
So cute. A fun read.
very cute!
oh man, but lemme tell you the one about the time when the dog actually CAUGHT a squirrel. argh.
Ha those squirrels are so cocky...one day...one day....lol. Loved it.
Delightful little poem! Like those delightful little squirrels?
Ah, yes. What must the squirrels think, those funny acrobats in the treetops.
A fun poem story from the squirrels' point of view. I always knew they had as much fun as the dogs.
It does make me miss my Adi (our beagle dog) who must have chased over a thousand in her life.
Adi died September 17, 2012.

Cruel! Cruel! ;-) But such fun!!
LOL Judy! You really make me think I was in the heads of the squirrels. And poor little Lexie! You'd think after all this time she would give up. I guess hope never dies in a dog.
