Each winter when temperatures
dip, the Hibiscus freezes and dies.
In spring it is replaced by a plant
of beauty, identical in name.
This year was one of great change.
The scene is one of awe in the hood.
We quit doing what we did before.
Cold tolerant flora now reign.

And the link worked just fine! Well done! LOL
I owe my success to you, Jinksy. Thank you so much for making me feel very tech savvy. :)
Ah, Judy, this year you were very wise!
smart words.
And I went the other way and bought an elephant ear that I *know* will not last the winter and that I *know* I will not dig out when the time for it comes!
Good poem. Pertinant comment. I once had an hibiscus which I brought into the house every winter. I managed to make it last three years and then it got too big!
Agnija and others. I have a confession to make. I didn't plant freeze tolerant plants in their place, only in my mind was I that steady. I actually have two double red hibiscus I look out on from my study window. LOL I'm hopelessly in favor of these gorgeous plants.
