Storm Surge

Tsunami
Seismic waves ashore from sea
One thousand dead so far
Damage in tens of thousands
Destructive forces rule the lands.

This and previous poem (Short Take) are using the Frost form developed by Bubba Alder.

Mother Nature...one day balmy breezes, the next day destruction.

Destruction is rampant in this horrible incident of nature.

Excellent Frost poem Judy! Nature reminding us who is really the boss!

Frighteningly true... the power of the sea. The damage in Japan, which suffered perhaps the largest earthquake ever recorded, and the accompanying tsunami, is astronomical. Many dead, like Sumatra. That wave in your image... oh! yes.

Very apropos and, sadly, true.

I like this, Judy. Form is appealing, word choice exact.

Judy,

Brave of you to 'take on' a still-unfolding horror. Let's wish the best -- certainly your poem's extending them the distant kindness we can

In Japan it unfortunately didn't stop with a tsunami. Nuclear disasters followed too. Even i am beginning to think that 'destructive forces rule the lands'. Great endings.
