SEARCHING
I feel like an animal
Searching for it's young
This instinct to find my child
Panic
I am ever vigilant
Calling, searching
For any sign of him
Please
I see movement now
in the corner of my eye
A gesture just like his
But no
I feel like an animal
Searching for it's young
This instinct to find my child
Panic
I am ever vigilant
Calling, searching
For any sign of him
Please
I see movement now
in the corner of my eye
A gesture just like his
But no
The telephone rings
and for a split second
I know it has to be him
It's not
I hear the front door
Awaken from my slumber
My heart pounds as I listen
To Silence
The night descends
It's still not over
I dream of him every night
Tears
Then sometimes he hugs me
I can feel his arms
I hear "I love you, Mom"
Peace
and for a split second
I know it has to be him
It's not
I hear the front door
Awaken from my slumber
My heart pounds as I listen
To Silence
The night descends
It's still not over
I dream of him every night
Tears
Then sometimes he hugs me
I can feel his arms
I hear "I love you, Mom"
Peace

wrenching poem Judy - so real - wish this wasn't your reality but I know wishing doesn't change it.
This is such a heart-felt and poignant poem, Judy I've read it before, I know, but it really hits hard.
Judy, your poems as usual are stunning. What an honor it is to know you and be able to read your pieces. Thank you, friend.
I keep watching for new entries. I know you have written.......I will keep checking back.
